User Involvement
Our plans include running workshops towards the end 2009/2010 for memory clinic staff, general practitioners and carer groups from the local area as well as nationally. These workshops will be run by our Training Officer Joan Woods. Joan is an experienced community mental health nurse, training in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Kings College, London. She has extensive experience of day-care for people with dementia, and has a particular interest in reminiscence and creative therapies. She has recently completed her MA in Gerontology at the University of Bangor, and has been recognised by the Alzheimer’s Society as an accredited trainer.
We are also planning on creating a workbook to help improve services and provide information to memory clinics.
